Original artwork by William H. Tappan (1821-1907) "The Old Allen Tavern," Oil on Board, painted in 1889, 16.5"x13.25" (framed), as it appeared in 1758. A stage coach station and social hub at the present-day intersection of Washington and North Streets, the tavern was the "secular meeting house" of the Manchester community during the Revolutionary Period where "affairs of moment were planned and discussed."
