About the event
Two Tours 10:30 AM and 12:00 PM
To kick-off the Museum's new Historic Town Tour, Matthew Swindell director, guides an outside 60 to 90 minute walking tour of historic sites in downtown Manchester. Two time slots are available: 10:30 AM and 2 PM. Registration requested. Free for All.
The traditional walking tour has information about each site and introduces a new interactive way to approach Manchester-by-the-Sea's history. The project, replacing a former digital-only application, provides a multi-modal, self-guided experience using historical plaques linking, by smartphone, to the Museum website. With nine sites in its initial launch, the Museum plans to expand it to promote other historic areas of Manchester.
The tour will begin at the Museum's Abigail Hooper Trask House and end at the Manchester Train Station. Please plan to arrive five minutes before your time slot begins.
