This booklet celebrates the 325th anniversary of an uncommon town, granted its independent status as Manchester by the General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony on May 3, 1645.
 
The purpose here is not to review history already printed, but to enlarge with accuracy upon some facets of it, showing how Manchester in 1970 was enriched by knowledge of its yesterdays.
